The Goethe Test PRO is an online adaptive German language test, developed by the famous Goethe Institut in Munich. The test can be used in schools, companies and any other organisations in demand of reliable German language assessment.
Schools which are interested in this brand new German language assessment tool, please get in touch with us. We are planning online training sessions for test handling in the very near future. Current BULATS and Linguaskill service providers will receive personal emails and information.
On 25 / 26th March our team spent 2 days in Horgen /ZH at the Bocken Conference Centre for our annual teachers’ seminar.
Spending the weekend with teachers, presenters, sponsors and our entire team is one of the highlights of the year for all of us. Many good conversations took place and gave us the opportunity to get an update on the challenges and concerns facing our schools and their teachers.
Linguaskill has been developed by Cambridge English Language Assessment to assess candidates at any level of language ability, from below A1 to C2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
The test takes about 60 – 85 minutes and provides instant results. Each candidate gets a report on their Listening and Reading performance as well as an overall score with the CEFR level and the score on Cambridge English Scale.
Linguaskill can be used for placement, promotion, recruitment or for training.
Placement testing is a topic which is not so easy. Some schools use self-developed tests which have their issue with accuracy, others use professional placement tests. One of these tests is the Cambridge English Placement Test (CEPT), which is a computer-adaptive general English placement test, adapting to the level of the candidate as the test progresses. The test takes about 20-25 minutes to complete and provides reliable results indicating the CEFR level and a precise point score.
In January 2016 we developed and introduced an innovative idea called the “Exam Retake Option” (ERO). Looking back 15 months later, we can confidently say, that this idea of ours was an unprecedented success to this point, with a vast majority of candidates and schools taking advantage of this unmatched service. But, what makes the our ERO a genuine service and an added value for our candidates?
We have been providing paper-based Cambridge Exams for some time now in St.Gallen. In an effort to provide different regions in Switzerland with high quality exams, we now also have a range of CB (computer-based) dates available in St.Gallen.
At this seminar we will be looking closely at reading and listening with special attention to how good receptive skills can lead to good productive skills. This transfer of learning strategies from one skill to another will support the main theme of training teachers in how to develop and test the receptive skills.
